Community Involvement

At Bruce Martin & Associates we believe in giving back to our community.  Whether in local sports teams, charity fundraisers, or event sponsorships, we encourage our staff to participate.  As a result of this we have built a solid base through which to return some of the good will our community has given to us.

Some of the more recent community involvements by our staff include:

• Coaching local youth soccer teams
• Coaching the minor lacrosse team
• Being active in the Canadian Cancer Society
• Participating in the Big Bike for the Heart & Stroke Foundation
• Being active with Muscular Dystrophy Canada
• Being active in the Kamloops & District Seniors Outreach Services Society
• Participation in the Kamloops Roller Derby Association
• Sponsorship of the baseball team “The Bruins”
• Annual donations towards Clearwater Secondary School ‘s dry grad
• Volunteering to complete seniors’ tax returns in Clearwater
• Activity in the Clearwater division of Lions Clubs International

International Involvement

Time and dedication have allowed us to make a difference not only in our own communities but in communities abroad.

Five years ago, Bruce Martin and Marcelle La Hue became involved with a family in a small community in Kenya.  Since then, their connection and relationships have evolved in such a way that they have been able to start their own international charity called SAN-FAN Kenya under the auspices of Art International.  SAN-FAN stands for See-a-Need, Fill-a-Need, which is exactly what the charity aspires to accomplish.

Through their generosity, several communities in Kenya have gained much needed cattle, blankets, food, water, and much more.  While the charity is still in development, we are confident that it will grow and continue to help those in need.
